Confidentiality Policy

Everything discussed within sessions is treated as strictly confidential. As a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), I work within their professional codes of conduct and ethics regarding confidentiality.

Information shared with me will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, except in the limited circumstances described under “Safeguarding & Limits to Confidentiality” below, or where I am required to do so by law.

Where clinical supervision is part of my professional practice, anonymised aspects of our work may be discussed with a qualified supervisor, in line with professional guidelines, to ensure the quality and safety of the support I provide.

02

Privacy & Data Protection Policy

I am committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Personal information collected through enquiry forms, email or telephone — such as your name, contact details, and information relevant to your care — is used solely for the purpose of providing psychological services, including assessment, treatment, reports and necessary administration.

Clinical records are stored securely, electronically and/or in paper form, with access restricted to myself and, where applicable, professional colleagues bound by confidentiality (such as a clinical supervisor). Records are retained in line with professional and legal record-keeping requirements, and are not shared with third parties without your explicit consent, save for the exceptions outlined below.

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to professional and legal record-keeping obligations. To make such a request, please contact enquiries@drsimonachereji.co.uk.

03

Appointments & Cancellation Policy

Appointments are offered online and in person at The Eaves Counselling and Psychology, 2 Maritime House, Farnham, GU9 7HW.

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments without notice, may be charged at the full session rate, except in cases of genuine emergency.

Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time. For online sessions, a secure video link will be provided in advance.

04

Fees & Payment

Fees vary depending on the service provided, including individual therapy, coaching, clinical reports, supervision and training. Current fees will be confirmed at the time of enquiry.

For clients using private health insurance, I am registered with BUPA, AXA, CIGNA, AVIVA and WPA. Please check the details of your policy, including any excess or session limits, with your provider before your first appointment. BUPACIGNAAVIVAWPA

05

Complaints Procedure

If you have any concerns about the service you have received, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss and resolve this with you directly in the first instance. Please contact me at enquiries@drsimonachereji.co.uk.

If a concern cannot be resolved directly, you may raise it with the relevant professional regulatory body: the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) at www.hcpc-uk.org, or the British Psychological Society (BPS) at www.bps.org.uk.

06

Safeguarding & Limits to Confidentiality

While confidentiality is central to therapeutic work, there are limited circumstances in which I may need to share information without your consent. These include situations where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult, or where disclosure is required by law or court order.

Where possible, and unless doing so would increase risk, I would aim to discuss this with you before any information is shared.

This page is a general guide to how the practice operates. If you have any questions about these policies, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
